| trouble in paradise? |
[Nov. 1st, 2009|07:19 pm] |
I want to live healthier, but fixers is giving me hell because of it. I want to cut out dairy and meat. I'll be keeping eggs and raw fish. The one thing I'm sure I'll miss is the cheese, I love cheese. So my solution was to buy organic soy cheese or some other organic substitute.
fixers thinks I have the devil inside me because of it. He hates vegans and everything that comes remotely close to vegans. I think we can safely say that he is a foodist.
I don't see any problems with me buying and eating some fake cheese, but he gives me hell. It is starting to feel like a deal breaker. As if society isn't hard enough to deal with concerning the wish to eat healthy. Junk food is so cheap, and it can be such a chore to find good quality produce at affordable prices. Besides; I don't want to be told what to eat by someone who wants to eat like a 7 year old. And it's not as if he needs to lose the weight, in fact he has never been fat since he was a baby. Why doesn't he just mellow down, why do I always have to be the one to conform to his eating habits?
There has got to be one type of fake healthy cheese he'll like, so we can put that into our cooking. He just doesn't want to try new things, and he's just the type to say that he doesn't like something before having even tried it. big sourpuss. |

| new diet idea |
[Jul. 25th, 2009|02:41 pm] |
Although this is not original in any way, I kind of think it will sustain me when I want a day or two of more balanced eating.
breakfast; 11cm diameter bowl of oatmeal with soymilk. One apple of your choice a cup of your favorite tea some small fruits like plums or apricots
snacks throughout the day if desired; dried fruits without added junk soymilk tea seaweed salad banana other fruits pickles water
lunch; big bowl of salad seafood like prawns(4 pieces) or tuna chunks( 1/8 american cup) one slice of wholegrain bread or 1/2 american cup of cooked brown rice or 1/2 cup of wholegrain pasta. fruit (but not banana, grapes or pineapple) vegetable stirfry
dinner; take a 18/20 cm diameter plate. Arrange this so that 1/2 of the plate is covered in vegetables, 1/4 of the rest is covered in complex carbs like brown rice, wholegrain pasta or wholegrain bread. The last 1/4 is covered in lean protein like raw or hot salmon, raw or hot tuna, tofu, egg, lean meat like beef, clams or shrimp or prawns. A side salad if still hungry; vegetable broth or clear soup
dessert; low calorie jello or baked apples or fruit
evening binges:) hot tea with a mochi piece or some walnuts(max a handfull) fruit if still peckish.
I would be surprised if I can manage to eat this all, but my diet books recommend this approach towards food. I've also downsized the carb intake a little bit, but not cutting them out entirely. I had to upsize the protein intake, because I eat near nothing of the stuff.
what do you think of this way of eating? scary? healthy? |

Darnit I lost my entry, second try.
Extreme 400-600 kcal diet has gotten me nowhere. I am at my highest weight ever. I am now enjoying a 1600 kcal mixed european asian diet with a lot of fiber and little to no meat and dairy. I am looking for a sportscentre that supports the bredapas(a discount card).
On my way home from the amazing oriental red wheel store (toko) I spotted neo-marked. From a long distance I might add, he has a peculiar way of moving his body around. I was very glad to see him and we talked for a little while.
On another note; one of the advantages of the oriental store is that they sell a great deal of seafood for very low prices. Much cheaper then the Dutch stores. They do however bill you for a "packing service" fee. I am very certain I packed my own bags. Is this fee an American custom in some way?
I just finished a bowl of spinach with toasted and ground sesame, it was divine. I get some of my recipes from the book "Japanese women don't get old or fat". I am very happy with the book, even though it lacks in vegetable and onepot dishes.
I still can't decide whether I like chinese or japanese food better. Chinese food has lots of delicious spicy stuff, and japanese food has elegant simplicity. On a cold winters night however, I do prefer a steaming bowl of pea soup or a plate of boerenkool met worst. Now who's with me on this one :)
"oh Dutch cuisine you betray me with simple carbohydrates and fond memories from my youth. You shall forever be in my heart, just not in my stomach." |

| what are you ashamed of? discuss :) |
[Mar. 5th, 2009|04:05 pm] |
My boyfriend frequently says that I'd have more fun if I would lighten up just a bit more. The problem is that I am easily ashamed of all sorts of things. Please rate my shame level and tell me what you are ashamed of.
I am ashamed of;
sloppy appearance (bad hair, ill fitting clothes, acne, bitten nails, mismatched clothes, torn clothes, stains, being fat obviously)
oepsies and nono's; asking directions just to see that you're standing right in front of it. Being underdressed. Garlic breath (never again,, I promise). Slipping on a wet spot on the street and landing on your butt. People misunderstanding you and making a scene. Burning my dinner,, again. Eating something that is sure to get you dirty,, like the annual chicken leg or a tortilla. Day light sex. Dropping stuff. Showing up late for an appointment,, and yes, even if I couldn't help it, which is most of the time. Eating in public.
And probably lots more, so uhm,, recognize any? |

| verhuisdrang |
[Jan. 28th, 2009|07:01 pm] |

| 2008 review |
[Dec. 31st, 2008|03:22 pm] |
In 2008 I finally got to know who and what I was. I've gotten to know my boyfriend better, and every day I see something new and interesting about him. 2008 was a very creative year, lots of sewing and designing, and a new interest in making ball jointed dolls and embroidery. 2008 was a year of diets and food deprivation, lots of long strolls and dreams about chocolate. 2008 was a emotionally unstable year, containing a certain amount of prozac and therapy. 2008 was a year of deeper love, homecoming and nice plans for the future. 2008 was a year of severing family ties, and I am glad I did.
Have a nice 2009 |

| secret shop against Angelic Pretty. |
[Nov. 26th, 2008|12:36 pm] |
I am bummed to see that AP has released tea party shoes in LL size, because I just bought 3 pairs of secret shop replica's in size 25, and I am afraid that I should have bought the AP ones. Just to ease my mind, I would like to know how they compare size and quality wise. I just got my shoes in, and allthough they do fit me pretty well, a bigger shoe would have been nicer.
They are also pretty stiff, so I'll have to break them in (I am not looking forward to that) Can anyone tell me how to make these fake leather tea party shoes more flexible without actually going through with walking and breaking them in?
I do however understand that secret shop shoes are a steal compared to the AP ones when it comes to price, they are just 50 dollars or so. You'll be able to get two pairs from SS for one pair of AP shoes.
I hope someone can help me with my odd questions, thank you in advance ^_^ |

| Update |
[Nov. 4th, 2008|01:20 pm] |
And again, it's been a long time since I've written anything in my journal. There have been some major changes in my life. I'll put it in categories for easy reading;
school/work; I'm officially an exam student now, and this means I will be finishing my school :) I've been offered a job at Onimo, a fashion company that makes business suits for women. I'll have to finish my school first though, but it's nice to know someone is waiting for me.
lovelife; my boyfriend fixersand I plan to live together no later than summer 2009. We'll search for a suitable home just after newyears. I'm really excited about this idea:) and I'm looking forward to the new living space. I'll be able to clean up properly and have a nice big closet for all my clothes. Same goes for him, and he'll have a home in Breda.
My wedding dress design *^o^ gasp* has a rough draft now, I'll want to make a colored version later on and decide on the details a bit more. Ofcourse I will be making it myself, not only because of the tremendous amount of money I will be saving that way but also because I think the dress I like can only be drawn by me and made by me. I haven't seen any wedding dress in the store I'd like to wear. And what could be more romantic then making your own wedding dress?
fixershas decided he wants to wear something like Atelier Boz style suit or men's dress suit. He claimed that our wedding is a sure thing :D and the only question will be of the "when". I've always said I didn't want to get married, but with him it is a different thing all together.
family life; my father and I have not seen each other in a long while, and maybe it is best this way. Apparently he only wants a daughter that is good for his image, and is willing to do his bidding when it is convenient for him. It makes me sad, it is a disapointment that I have such a father. However, my mother and I are on good terms right now, and we did some nice things together. We visited the aquarium and went searching for chestnuts in the woods :)
Hobby; Sewing is steadily coming along, I'm working on cutsews right now because I want slightly less over the top clothes to go with my skirts. And it would be a shame to only wear them with full-on blouse wouldn't it.
I've picked up something new, and I'm still not sure it it is the right thing to do along side sewing. I researched making asian style balljointed dolls, I've always liked them, but still I would never buy them myself because I haven't seen a single one that is worth the trouble and the money. For people who do not know; these dolls are quite expensive because they are rare and labor intensive. You can easily pay more then 600 dollars for a medium quality one. I haven't done anything creative besides sewing in a long time, and therefore I am really happy to sculpt a doll of my own. I want to make a +- 60 cm tall one with the face like Dream off Doll "mir" or "bee-A", or Fairyland brand style face "miyu" http://ml-img.wisecart.co.kr/co_img001/hoo933/item/49m.jpg http://img.dreamofdoll.com/co_img006/hsh933/etc/beea.jpg http://doll.fairyland.co.kr/doll_image/clothes/minifee/MOutfit_rebirthofrose03.jpg <--- is apparently not miyu but a MiniFee Ryeon .... I still can't see the small differences, prooves I'm still a newbie at bjd's. I still have a lot of the materials laying around which can be used to make a bjd, so I won't have to buy those. I just have to buy gloss, special clay and sealing spray.
body image; I've become a lot more feminine lately, I started taking care of my nails, and they are quite lovely right now. Sometimes I want to take out the fake nails with elaborate designs like bows and flowers, but I've heard they are quite bad for your own nails health, so I'll have to limit my fake nail use to only event and festive weekends. I have a lovely cute and slightly pink french manicure on my natural nails right now. I have pink and white nail-stickers with flower and butterfly (or dragonfly) design on. I bought them at Claires. I stopped my rather extreme diet a while ago, because I became weak and ill -_-. And it is too easy to go overboard with dieting, thinking about food all day and dreaming about all the chocolate I was not eating. God I love chocolate *_*. Now I just leave out foods that make my stomach turn like pork, fat meats, spicy goods and too much sugar. I don't have an allergy but a so called "food sensitivity". I've bought a good pair of running shoes, and I've allready got blisters *guess they can't be avoided*. I haven't gone running much though, just twice. I am really scared to go running or any other type of workout because it makes me aggressive. I feel like the stress comes out and it makes me angry. I'm an oddball allright. I should really work out more, because I am still a few kilo's overweight. I only lost 3 kilo's with dieting in the end, and my fat traveled to other places in my body. (my butt went to my stomach) I have been walking a lot lately, which is probably better then not doing it at all. But no body change has occurred.
I can't think of anything else important right now, ow wait; To hennie, It was very nice to speak to you in such a long time, I will promise to post more on my journal. After fixers and I get moved in together we'll definitely plan for a visit to you Japanese address. |

| marui and jane marple |
[Jul. 1st, 2008|11:42 am] |
I didn't know this site excisted. Did you? http://maruione.jp/en/ you can buy a limited selection of the brands there. And they ship overseas as well.
I've also been looking for stock photo's of jane marple products, but I can't really find them. Their online "catalog" is nice and all, but you can't see the details. Does anyone know where I can get clear photo's?
edit: I made a low calorie spicey apple pie, and even though it looks amazing, like the picture in the book. It is all kinds of disgusting, tonguetwistingly peppery and really dry. bah. -_- I wanted to surprise fixers with my baking skills, seems I have failed yet again.
fixers and I went to the movies, and there we saw;; A bearded, mentally handicapped teenage girl. it was disturbing, laughable and really sad at the same time. It's still burned onto my retina's. |

| leggo my jello |
[Jun. 28th, 2008|10:06 pm] |
Someone kindly informed me it's about time I updated my journal. So here you have it:
The last few months have been hectic in one sense of the word. I have some explaining to do; the buttonhole function on my sewing machine is busted, and thus I have more then a few clothes hanging nearly done in my closet. Sadly I can't wear them yet. I've almost finished my VM replica flower print dress, but it also needs back ties with buttons.,, which I can't make right now -_- I'm currently working on a few Innocent world replica's and one looka-like. The pattern is giving me some trouble in the fittings. Luckily I still have more then enough bed-sheets to cut up. I am going back to the drawing board on this one, and I'm selecting a pattern from one of my gosurori's to use. I've lifted out some of the front parts, but none of them match up. So I'll probably have to measure and compare them all to see what fits my needs. And even then I won't know what it will come out like. It's a bit frustrating to be honest.
Fixers and I have been teaming up a lot, we've been to amsterdam a couple of times.. to buy fabric and supplies. I've recently bought a great straightening iron. And I've cut my hair, the bangs are back into action. I've also bought a nice sunhat, it's not all that elegant but it's practical. I wish I could get a really nice looking one, like the one from innocent world. But I've promised myself not to overspend anymore, and I won't... I just can't afford it. One of these days I'll crack and buy everything Noa Noa has marked down at that time.
I've also come to the conclusion that I am not good at baking things in pans, I've got a few burned corpses to prove my point. I hate cooking on electric. I'm just not patient enough for it. I hereby solemnly swear to only heat them as far as halfway for baked goods.
I thought I'd save some money and buy my converse lookalike shoes at Schoenenreus (a shoe discount store).. Most of them were worn out in a couple of days of wearing them. I've bought three pairs,,maybe I should have bought one pair of good old converse or london underground shoes.
Fixers was here last weekend and he wanted to do some cooking, and I wanted to make use of the fresh strawberries I had. Fixers and I made a quiche,,, it tasted great!!! I made jello with strawberries in it. It lost some of the edge when taking it from the dish. But I think it was still refreshing and low in calories

| the epic "I feel great" post |
[Feb. 25th, 2008|03:49 pm] |
The diet is working, I feel and look much thinner. I still slip up sometimes, usually it's white toast with butter, salt and pepper. I have no idea how much I weigh right now, next week I will have a weigh-in at the dietrician.
My old jeans fit,, and they aren't even tight. Thus I kick ass. Back to feeling all high and mighty like I used to before my thyroid problem. Fixers is most probably going to have to deal with it.(and he might just sneak a peak at me in a bikini this summer,,oooooh:D) blablabla,,ED,, yeah right.... I promise not to badger fat people...not too much anyway. I know what it's like to be fat now, but I'm still discusted by morbidly obese people.
now back to what I do best; create masterpieces out of fabric, counting calories and get high strung on just tea.
Now say it with me: vegetables rule!! |

| make-up and garters |
[Feb. 9th, 2008|04:55 pm] |
I've been searching through the shops in Breda for a foundation that matches my skin. I couldn't find anything light enough.(I've been searching for years as well) I own Dior pure light, in the lightest shade. But it's still too orange.
Do you know any good sources for light foundations? I've found http://www.amphigory.com/cosmetics.html but I would like more sources.
About garters: I'm considering wearing garterbelts, instead of pantyhose (I think pantyhose look bad and they are not really that comfy).
I've tried http://www.stockingshq.com/index.htm but I think their garterbelt selection is lacking in oldfashioned garterbelts. Do you know a website were they sell the really old fashioned stuff?
I'll be searching ebay,, but I'd much rather buy at a seperate site. |

| poupeegirl |
[Feb. 6th, 2008|02:20 pm] |
I took redtonic advice to heart, and opened a poupeegirl account. Can anyone give me some pointers on how to brighten my user experience with poupeegirl? (like, for one, I can't find the button to save my no cost dress up outfits with)
Do you have poupeegirl? I'll ask fixers to bring his camera. |
